Programme Rationale
The increased growth in our economy and global growth of international trade has necessitated training a group of procurement professionals who will manage our organization in the procurement and logistics Field. Bachelor of Procurement and logistics management programme will equips graduates with skills and knowledge in Inventory and warehouse management, legal aspects of procurement, transport and distribution, public procurement, management and organisational theory, International procurement so that they are well prepared for the field.
Programme Objectives
The Bachelor of procurement and logistics management aims to achieve the following:-
- To train well-rounded and effective procurement specialists who are able to understand and respond to challenges within the procurement profession.
- To impart manager knowledge and skills needed to manage the procurement processes
Programme Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to;
- Provide technical and managerial skills in managing procurement procedures
- To Prepare a range of procurement-related documents and reports;
- Demonstrate ethical and good governance in procurement fields.
Nature and Duration of the Programme
There will be a full time day and evening programme. Lectures will be conducted from Monday to Friday within the period 8.00 am to 5.00 pm and 5.00pm to 10.00pm. The duration for the Bachelor of procurement and logistics management degree programme will be three (3) academic years comprising of 6 semester. Each semester will be 17 weeks long of which 15 will be used for lectures and the last 2 weeks used for end of semester examinations.
Career Prospects
The graduates are ideally placed to work either in multi-national companies as procurement managers, procurement executives, business planners, project managers and lecturers. The programme also trains students to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses with the aid of both marketing and procurement skills and knowledge. Others will take up further studies in business related courses.
Target Group
The programme targets four categories of people, namely ‘A’ level certificate holders, diploma holders in relevant programmes and professionals and mature age students.
Admission into the first year through any of the four avenues
- Direct entry
- Diploma holders scheme
- Professional qualifications
- Entrance admission examination
For admission to any Degree course under;
A) Direct Entry Scheme
A candidate must have;
- Sat the UCE examination (equivalent) and obtained a certificate in it, and
- Obtained at least two advanced level principal pass and subsidiary pass (es) at the same sitting of the Uganda advanced certificate of education (U.A.C.E) examinations.
- Obtained either a credit in English language or English literature at “O” level.
B) Diploma Holder’s Scheme.
A candidate must hold;
- A Uganda certificate of education (U.C.E) and/or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- A diploma in relevant field of the Institute or any of the Uganda colleges of commerce and former NCBS or a diploma in any field of study obtained from a recognized institution.
- C) Professional Qualifications.
The applicant should have passed at least the equivalent stage/level one of the professional qualifications from a recognized institution or its equivalent provided this is passing by a recognized examination body.
Admissions to the second year.
Admission other than to the first year of the programme shall require a special resolution of the school academic committee.
Programme duration.
The degree Programme shall normally extend over a period of three years not exceeding a maximum of six years.

Tuition Fees
Tuition fees for the Bachelor of Procurement & Logistics Management is UGX 985,000/= per year for Ugandans and USD $385 per year for international students.
Functional Fees
Functional Fees for Ugandan nationals is UGX 350,000/= per year, and USD $100 per year for international students
